from "The Way of the Peaceful Warrior"

This is a list of quotes from the book that struck in me some way…

What does life want from me?

How do I serve the whole?

As you whip up the initiatory energy, ask the big cosmic thought where it would like you to go and what it would love you to do

I was capable of loving action. What could be a greater power?

I had lost my mind and fallen into my heart.

It makes no difference at all, so just be hapy now. Love is the only reality of the world, because it is all one.

No need to resist life, just do your best.

Understanding is one dimensional. It is the comprehension of the intellect. It leads to knowledge, which you have. Realization, on the other hand, is three dimensional. It is the simultaneous comprehension of the ‘whole-body’ – the Head, Heart, and Physical Instincts. It only comes from clear experience.

Body-Wisdom

It is better for you to take responsibility for your life as it is, instead of blaming others, or circumstances, for your predicament. As your eyes open, you’ll see that your state of health, happiness, and every circumstance of your life has been, in large part, arranged by you – consciously or unconsciously.

When you understand the source clearly, you’ll see that the ripples of your mind have nothing to do with you; you’ll just watch them, without attachment, no longer compelled to overact every time a pebble drops. You will be free of the world’s turbulence as soon as you calm your thoughts. Remember – when you are troubled, let go of your thoughts and deal with your mind.

I realized the process of real meditation – to expand awareness, to direct attention, to ultimately surrender to light of consciousness.

The intensity of your practice brings proportionate benefits.

There are no ordinary moments.

So be happy now, without reason – or you never will be at all.

A fool is happy when his cravings are satisfied. A warrior is happy without reason. That is what makes happiness the ultimate discipline.

Act happy, feel happy, be happy, without reason in the world. Then you can love and do what you will.
